Twilight Series

Isabella Swan’s move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Isabella’s life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Isabella, the person Edward holds most dear. The lovers find themselves balanced precariously on the point of a knife-between desire and danger. Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

  1. Story  – Getting Into It (7) As a guy I could still get into the story.
  2. Story – Staying Interested (7) You want to follow through with the characters and see what will happen next.
  3. Story – Finish (4) As you will learn from my reviews I hate when things are built up and then nothing happens. If I wanted boring then I can read real life stories. And don’t try to tie everything up with a pretty bow cause its boring without sacrifice, pain, etc.
  4. Characters (8) The characters are likeable enough. They are a little whinny and annoying but overall their good and well thought out.
  5. Writing (9) Contrary to what many say I like Meyer’s writing style. It’s easy and enjoyable and there is nothing wrong with that.  My only problem would be how she thinks things out at times.

Overall a 35/50 or 3.5 rating from me. This is one of my wife’s favorite series and they were enjoyable enough for me, as a guy, to read through them.  Probably won’t ever read them again but still good.
